Poole is a coastal town, port and one of the major tourist destinations of England. It is famous for its large natural harbour and is one of the main sailing centres of England. The town is home to the headquarters of some of the branded companies like Sunseeker (luxury yacht manufacturer) and Lush (Cosmetics Company). Places like Poole Museum, Sandbanks, Brownsea Island, Tower Park, Poole Bay, Compton Acres Garden, Poole Pottery and Poole Harbour are the major tourist attraction sites. Poole is the home to headquarters for Merlin Entertainment, which is the world’s largest theme park operator after Disney.

Poole Harbour is the prominent tourist place of Poole. It is the second largest natural harbour in the world after Sydney. The calm water of this harbour is always busy with luxury yachts and fishing boats. It is the perfect habitat for the wide range of plants and birds life. It also provides a wide ground for water sports like wakeboarding, water skiing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. Brownsea Island is a beautiful island situated in the centre of Poole Harbour. The island is nature reserve for some elusive wildlife like red squirrels and peacocks. Compton Acres is a great combination of twelve individual gardens in one set. The beauty of the garden is that it changes its appearances and ambience with the seasons to make a unique experience for every visit. Tower Park is a leisure complex in Poole, which is famous for the concrete water tower that sits at the top of the hill. Its main attraction includes a water park boasting with 12 slides, a large KFC, Burger King, Pizza Hut, 3 restaurants along with nightclubs. Poole Park is the favourite destinations for children giving the pleasure of miniature railways. Bournemouth attracts huge tourist for its high balloon flight. The balloon flight gives an exciting panoramic view of the English Channel from the height of 500ft. Dorset Coast path is the region, which starts at Poole Harbour. It is well known as the Jurassic coast. The place is abundant in fossils and geographical features.

Poole is also famous for its historical old monuments. St. James Church is one of the oldest monuments of the town also known as, ‘the fisherman’s church’. Poole museum displays a wide range of articles of ancient age. Monuments like old public house, old town hall and Thames Street are the other historical sites of Poole. Waterfront museum reveals the 2000 years of Poole’s fascinating history.

Museum is full of topics covering the Iron Age, the Roman Occupation and story of Poole pottery. Scaplen’s Court museum, once known as George Inn, is Poole’s best-preserved medieval domestic building. Lighthouse of Poole is the biggest arts centre outside London. It is also home to the world famous Bournemouth Symphony orchestra. Poole also provides tourist attractions like Gus Gorilla’s Jungle Playground, Farmer Palmer’s Farm park, Ollie’s Adventure Land, Customs House and Castleman Trailway. Poole surely covers every facet require for the perfect holiday for tourist of every age.
