Sandbanks

Sandbanks is one of the most popular areas of Dorset for a variety of reasons. Sandbanks is popular with tourists because of its stunning sandy beaches, infact some of the cleanest in the country. With a variety of snack bars and ice cream sellers. During the summer due to Sandbanks being situated on a penisular, the main road to the beach area during the summer (when its sunny!) can get pretty hectic with large ques for the car park. My advice is to arrive early! At the other end of the spectrum Sandbanks is a popular ‘celebrity’ haunt with a number of secluded and spacious houses and apartments, suprisingly secluded given the nearby beach drawing tourists.
The area has the highest property prices in the UK, with the exception of certain exclusive central London areas. Perhaps the most well known Sandbanks resident is Portsmouth Football club manager, Harry Redknapp. There have been many unconfirmed rumours of other celebrities buying or certainly house hunting in the area, most recently one of the Gallagher brothers from Oasis was rumoured to be looking in the area.
