Sherborne is one of the most outstanding towns in the South West let alone Dorset. A fabulous market town on the border of Somerset and Dorset situated along the River Yeo. The town has excellent transport links with a mainline station and the A303 and A30 within spitting distance. 6 miles to the West is the Somerset town of Yeovil. The town is largely known for its historic roots, including Sherborne Abbey, two castles (Sherborne Old Castle & Sherborne New Castle), manor house and renowned private schools. The heart of the town remains relatively untouched from centuries before, and much effort and work is made to preserve the Georgian, Victorian and Jacobean facade. If you are visiting Dorset, Sherborne is a popular destination and offers a range of unique shops, cafes and eateries.
