Wareham

Wareham is a small town close to the mouth of the Frome. Around the town, earth walls existing from pre-Roman period can be seen. St. Martin’s Church is a small Anglo-Saxon church that has a hexagonal lead font. There is an idol of the legendary T.E. Lawrence dressed as an Arab. This is created by Eric Kennington. There is also a marble sarcophagus of Edward the Martyr. Wareham has a population of about 27,000.

Tourist attractions

Corfe Castle is a very prime attraction of Wareham. It is a National Trust property. Starting from the visitor center, there is a visitor route to the castle entrance. This is a 12th/13th century castle. The huge Norman ruins can be seen from a long distance. The castle is younger than the village. The World of Toys is very close from Wareham. It is situated at Arne. This is the singular toy and Musical Box Museum in Dorset. It houses a highly structured of toys which includes boats to steam engines, toy soldiers to teddy bears. Clouds Hill was the residence of T.E. Lawrence or the Lawrence of Arabia. It is also located near Wareham. He bought this in 1925, as a retreat. The rooms are in the same condition as he had left them. The Wareham Tourist Office is located near Trinity Church on South Street.

Luckford Wood House

This is an ideal place for enjoying the vacations in Wareham. Here, it is permitted to pitch the tent wherever desired in the permitted region. There aren’t rows of tents or caravans. The family park is surrounded by woodland and there are several private areas. The Jurassic Coast, forest walks, sandy beaches and the woodland are very close. There are several recreational measures near the House. The Luckford Wood Caravan and Camping Park is only 4 miles from Lulworth. By road or walking through the country from the park, the Camping Park can be reached. Fortunate visitors can view the deer while they are grazing and listen to the singing of the birds. Various gardens, country houses and ancient residences can be seen around the House. Lulworth cove and Durdle Door are a must see for tourists, who have an interest in beautiful scenes and geology. The tranquility of Warborrow Bay and Marvel is very soothing. There is a lot of thrill and excitement, if the Monkey World, the Tank Museum and the Swanage Steam Railway are paid a visit. There are several Supermarkets in Wareham for the crucial provisions. Luckford has a plethora of restaurants, cafes, small hotels, bars and pubs. These are not unreasonably far and cater to all sorts of tastes. Different people can enjoy Trekking, Bike hire, Deer Staking; Outward bound courses, Clay Pigeon Shooting, Zorbing and Gliding. Tourists may also be accompanied by their pets. The only restriction is that they should be kept on a lead and walked on the internal dog walking lane. At Luckford, Camp Fires can be savored. The organizers supply the kindling wood, a fire basket and water for the safety of people. Hog Roast is roasted, carved, displayed and served. Pork and Lamb Roast are also allowed.
